TYPES OF HAIRS

Hair is basically an outcome of protein, found mainly on mammals. Hair projects out of epidermis, but rise from the hair follicles that are present deep in the layer of the skin that is the dermis. Basically, there are distinct types of hair that a person can have based on different categories.

1. It can be classified on the basis of race. Hair can be African, Asian or Caucasian. Usually, African hair is black and they are firmly warped up and are most often fizzy and dry. Asian hairs are also wavy and are very curly in rare cases. On the other hand, Caucasian hairs have diverse textures and colors. They can be black, brown, red and blonde. They can also be thick, medium or thin.

2. Hairs can also be distinguished by their body. They can be wavy, curly or straight. Straight hair seems to be shimmering as the natural oil of the hair cover it better in comparison to the other two hair types. With the availability of several devices for hair styling like curling ions and hair straighteners, it is easy for the hair to achieve distinct kinds of body. It is recommended not to change hair styles time and again particularly if the application of chemicals and too much exposure of the hair to heat is involved in the procedure as it can lead to hair damage.

3. Another classification of hair is normal, dry or oily. The hair type that has a tendency for breakage and damage is dry hair. This is the reason why people who have dry hair are advised not to bathe their hair regularly. If a person has dry hair, then he should use only those products that are especially developed for this particular hair type. Contrast to this, oily hair requires frequent washing. It also needs to be gently handled when it is wet.

4. Based on styling, hair can be of three types- fine, medium and coarse. It is difficult to style fine hair as it does not hold much and can be damaged easily. Medium type of hair can hold all types of hair styles and also creates volume. Coarse hair, in contrast, needs the use of conditioners to be managed easily.

Different kinds of hairs are there based on body, race, thickness and texture. Having knowledge of the type of hair a person is having is very important as it helps in their better management and care.
